Listen: Record Store Day 2011

It’s here! Today [April 16th] Independent Record Stores the world over rejoice as hoards of the paying public permeate their modest walls for rare and exclusive releases from their favourite artists.

As I live in Bristol, our nearest participating store is Rise Music in Clifton, where the crowds were heavy by around 10am but already illustrating sheer desperation as a few individuals set up camp around the 6am mark.

The list of actual releases is wildly gigantic, with 250+ exclusive products available in the UK alone, but here you can listen to my select choices from the event.

Radiohead – Supercollider/The Butcher: The Last Two Songs From The King Of Limbs Sessions

Nirvana – Hormoaning EP: The Über Rare EP Released For The First Time In America

Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues/Grown Ocean
: An Official New Single Taken From The Upcoming Album

Gorillaz – The Fall: A Vinyl Edition of this Bad-Boy, Created Using Nothing But iPad Apps.

Sub Pop’s Terminal Sales Vol.4: Please to Enjoy, a 20-track compilation currently streaming from the Sub Pop Souncloud Page

Last but not least there is also a double 10″ single from the Beach Boys Good Vibrations/Heroes & Villains which I won’t post a link for, since I’m sure you can locate these two songs yourself!

Hope you enjoy!
