Every inhabitant of the immediate blogosphere is aware of BBC Sound of 2011 nominee Jai Paul. And despite losing that accolade to Jessie J (lets be honest, it should have been Warpaint or James Blake), he’s showing no signs of disappearing offline.
In real life however, he seems to have gone all hermit Burial on us.
Listen below to the lionized ‘BTSTU’ and the lesser known 40-second ‘Baby Beat’.
He’s just a 21-year-old from Rayner’s Lane, London, but sings both the super-high and the average-low over skilfully uncomfortable cataracts of synth. And it seems Thom Yorke will probably be listening to the former track in his Glastonbury tent.
